Note that the Integra Telecom Metaswitch call agent requires that SIP Bye messages be

authenticated upon a challenge. The call agent will not release a call without an authenticated

Bye message from the MSBG. Lync will clear the call and leave the Metaswitch ‘side’ hanging.

RTP will continue to flow (using bandwidth) for five minutes. Metaswitch audits every 15

minutes. The call will ultimately be released and cleared in 15 minutes post unauthenticated

Bye. Calls in this status count toward call admission control values.

Call Admission Control (CAC) may be configured, if desired, in several ways. This section

allows CAC configuration. A sample Admission Control table entry is shown below.

This example is based on a global admission for all IP Groups, all SRD, and calls in both

directions. A more granular configuration may be desirable for better policing of RTP sessions

allowed. The Limit and Limit per User fields must be to some value other than the default ‘-1’

(unlimited).

As shown below, the only Coder allowed for the certification was G.7.11U-law. Although this

was the only one allowed, the MSBG did forward all Lync supported Coder types to the call

agent. As previously mentioned, G.729 is not supported by Lync. Transcoding is required.
